Lucky Strikes

Congratulations to Riyan from team Singapore Surf Anglerz. You have made your team and "myself" personally proud as a Surf Casting Sportsmenship with this overall catch from our local shores. To the extend of my experience from our shore fishing, there are no such fish ever recorded in Singapore for the last few years in fact for a few decades after i've gone through so many fishy links that we have right now ongoing. This species is only available in pay ponds (if you wanna try 'em). The fish that Riyan was holding in his right hand was called the Red Drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) or Taiwan Ngor which was locally called here in south east asia. A relatives to the high speed fighter, chaser and runner, the Salmon Threadfin or Ngor Hee. It is one of the most respected big brash hard fighting game fish ever known to the world over without surrendering or giving up to you easily. This fish was caught somewhere in Changi as this fish habitats the sandy shore and have taken in Sand Worms as bait. If it were to be my top prize catch i'm enlightened and proud of this landings, but it belongs to Riyan. Once again. Congratulations for landing this beauty.

It takes 2 huge drinking bottles of 1.5 litre to match with this much respected reward by Riyan. What a beauty this is. The top fish is the most common fish from our shoreline. It's the Sickle-fish (Drepane punctata) can be easily caught on Sarong worms, Wat-wat, Peeled-skin fresh cutted Prawns and Sand worms. They too habitat the sandy seabed.
