Fishing in Singapore with the Singapore Sea Brothers

05th of September 2009

It's Showtime!

We are heavily equipped with big game monster bait tonight. Although its a very night of the holy month of Ramadhan. Respect the month.

After that drooling Sotong scoop scene up there and now its one of the prime bait for the night monster supper. The Swa Chiam or the Pasir2 United. But we're not using it all in a night. It's just a little bit.

Awaiting for the big screaming reels for our surfcastings' might set to hunt those hungry predators down under and unleash that fearsome power from our powerful drags and hundred yards of line stripped.

Isa's ON with the fish tonight. The line stripped out for merely 5 seconds and stops and jams thereafter. After setting in the Sotong scoop as bait. Its the first exciting fish of the night. Reel it in those cowards Isa!!!

Here you are. Bro Isa gearing & deadly equipped with Zziplex M4 with a sweet thorough combination of Daiwa Grandwave-Z Z30. Finally a good sweet eating Brown Stingray (Himantura gerrardi) landed after so many nights of fail attempt. This was a one surprisingly whopping to 5.3 Kilos on the weight scale. Well done bro Isa as this night is truly your night and that it really heats up the overall nights' action.

Finally the enemy loses the battle and had to be awaited for the frying pans for some special taste buds that Isas' gonna prepare during the menu.

With those freshest bait we have. It don't dampen the mood after the first land. Looked here folks, i landed a Shark. Well its a grand debut actually of me having first time landing it from shoreline and cast in this website. It is the Hasselt's Indonesian Bambooshark (Chiloscyllium hasseltii) that i'm holding on my left hand. Walla, what a night this is to be. Woooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

A close up to this beauty.

Well you have to catch and release this beautiful creature before it extincts. I felt blessed after releasing it back unharm to its safety where it belongs.

Finally after the Sharks've been landed. I'm blessed with a beautiful Flower Crab (Portunus pelagicus). And this one will go in the hot pot soon. I wonder why the Crab. Hmmm... should be the full moon night.

Well that's all folks. Just been out there for 3 short hours and we were greeted with a heavy lightning, raining, thunderstorm from the west that batters the deper east. We have to packed up and leave the spot immediately. Think its SAHUR time lah Bang!!! Till next time with Bro Isa and me. We're the Sea Brothers & Nelayan Inc. signs off & out. Tightlines & screaming reels always. Happy fasting out there Bros!!!
