 May 16, 2006 - Digging deeper #1
During the build-up to the second Bush-Iraq war Neo-Con politicians often said "do not waver". Christians would recognise this as a reference to Matthew 21:21 But Jesus answered and said to them, "Amen I say to you, if you have faith and do not waver, not only will you do what I have done to the fig tree, but even if you shall say to this mountain, 'Arise, and hurl thyself into the sea,' it shall be done. The "do not waver" comment is understood to mean something like have faith or derive strength through your faith. The 'have faith' comment is an example of a message between people that share a common understanding or a common knowledge. It was directed at serious Christians and perhaps also to others. I came to understand this once I had searched for the phrase. I think of these phrases as pointing to the deeper meaning. This is an analogy to pointers in computer programming. Pointers can point to other pointers. When searching the risk of going off-course increases with more pointers so evaluation is important. On the other hand you could find some very interesting material at the end of a string of pointers and have supporting evidence for it at a totally different level or having arrived at the material you could then see a far more direct connection. We find hints at hidden messages like this elsewhere e.g. in newspaper articles, in television news broadcasts, on the radio and on the web. It's fun researching them and often reveals surprising results. The hints can be subtle, obvious or complex depending on the intended audience. I prefer straigtforward, subtle hints but they can all be fun. It is often just fun - people in the media sharing a joke with a sub-audience that will appreciate it - us humans enjoy playing. It can be used to evade censorship and it can used very seriously to send a hidden message right round the World to a particular audience. Sometimes there's a long path prepared for you - or somebody else - to follow. You might find a link to a particular website without it being hyperlinked - it's only subliminal if you don't notice it. to be continued

Are Planet Blair ignoring all challenges to their gross delusions? It doesn't exist! Close your eyes for ten seconds, it'll be gone when you open them. Have faith in the Glorious Leader
Looks like those "potentially accused offenders" have to defend themselves from accusations that they're not even aware of. That's Blair's Britain for you ...
Did you see the post at Bristol Indymedia? I'll get round to writting it up properly.

Bristol Indymedia are being very tight-lipped about it all. I wonder if they've been served a gagging order. Ministry of Defence Police are able to ask British Transport Police to act on their behalf.
Can't really get much more Fascist that murdering your political opponents, can you?
